Free Marketing and Media training in November

Volunteering England would like to invite people to express their interest in free training, taking place in November. The training courses, entitled an Introduction to Media and an Introduction to Marketing have been funded by the Voluntary Action Media Unit and are being provided by Media Trust. Both courses are aimed at small organisations, which have little or no prior experience of working with the media or marketing but who would like to get to grips with the basics in these areas. Vetting and Barring

What is it?

The new Vetting and Barring Scheme (VBS) aims to help organisations increase protection of children and vulnerable adults, by improving the current provisions for screening potential volunteers and employees.
 

It plans to do this through a registration system, stopping people who the Scheme decides are unsuitable from volunteering (or trying to volunteer) with children and vulnerable adults.
 

A new Independent Barring Board (IBB) will take responsibility for making barring decisions. The application processes for vetting and barring decisions will be run by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).
