Breaking down the barriers

Date: 23rd March 2009

Time: 10.00am - 4.00pm

North Yorkshire Forum for Voluntary Organisations (NYFVO) is run by voluntary and community organisations in York and North Yorkshire to promote, develop and support new and existing forms of voluntary and community action; and to ensure that their views and interests are well represented.

They are organising an event to explore how groups can engage with volunteers from the growing migrant worker and BME communities in North Yorkshire.

The main aim of the day will be to explore what the issues and difficulties are for both Volunteer Involving Organisations and potential volunteers, and to share learning and experience.

By the end of the day participants should more confident about how to reach out to this growing pool of potential volunteers, and how to actively engage with them and involve them successfully in volunteering.
